CIF-SS boys soccer playoff pairings: Sierra Vista the No. 1 seed in Division 3

The Sierra Vista boys soccer team aims to add another championship to its collection in the upcoming CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs. As the top seed, they will host the first-round game against the winner of the wild-card match between Valencia and Pasadena on Thursday. Other local teams with top-four seeds in their divisions include Northview, South Pasadena, La Puente, and Gabrielino. They will face different opponents in the first round based on the results of the wild-card round games taking place on Tuesday. A full schedule for the playoffs is provided, with games starting at 5 p.m. unless noted.

Wild-card round games are Tuesday and the first-round games are Thursday.

Sierra Vista (17-1-2) will host the first-round game Thursday against the winner of the wild-card match between Valencia (7-7-4) and Pasadena (10-8-1).

Other area teams given top-four seeds in their division were Northview, South Pasadena, La Puente and Gabrielino.

Valle Vista League champion Northview (15-2-2), the No. 4 seed in Division 4, will host Summit (15-2-2) in the first round Thursday.

Rio Hondo League champion South Pasadena (12-0-2) is the third seed in Division 5. It will host Riverside Prep (13-7-3) or Vista Del Lago (5-9-4) in the first round.

La Puente (12-2) and Gabrielino (12-1-2) are the second and third seeds, respectively, in Division 7. Both will face wild-card winners in the first round.

La Puente will play Oakwood (5-7-4) or CAMS (5-6-2) while Gabrielino will host Gladstone (6-7-3) or San Jacinto Valley (8-7-2).
