Pasadena School Teacher Arrested for Sexual Assault on a Child

A teacher has been arrested in Pasadena, CA for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student. On March 1, 2023, officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to McKinley School on the 300 block of South Oak Knoll Avenue after receiving a "Suspicious Circumstances" call. During their preliminary investigation, officers discovered that a history teacher from the school had sexually victimized the student and immediately detained the teacher on campus.

Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department's Special Victim's Unit (SVU) responded to McKinley School to conduct a follow-up investigation. During the investigation, SVU detectives conducted interviews, examined digital evidence, and executed a search warrant at two locations. Evidence related to the molestation of the student and possession of child pornography was obtained.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael Medina, a Glendale resident, was arrested and booked at the Pasadena Police Department's Jail for multiple Penal Codes, including 288(a), 288(a)(2), 288(c)(1), 287(b)(2), and 311.11(a). The suspect has since bonded out.
