A winter weather advisory has been issued for the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties for late Saturday night into Sunday evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with higher amounts possible in the San Gabriel Mountains. Wind gusts up to 50 mph will create areas of reduced visibility due to blowing snow.

The NWS advises travelers to use caution and carry chains if driving through the mountain roads. The snow level is expected to drop to around 4,000 feet by Sunday morning. The cold and windy conditions could also affect exposed areas such as campgrounds and hiking trails.

The winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. The NWS will update the forecast as needed.
