GasBuddy released its 2023 fuel outlook at the end of December, projecting that the national average fuel price would keep declining this year.

However, San Francisco and Los Angeles may see prices skyrocket up to $7 per gallon, while other major cities may reach $4 per gallon during the summer if refineries encounter challenges meeting specific gasoline formulation requirements.

Recently, Senator Jones reintroduced two of his Senate proposals aiming to halt California's tax increase and decrease gas prices by as much as $1 per gallon.

In a letter last month, members of the Republican Caucus, including assemblymembers and senators, urged Governor Newsom to cancel the proposed tax hike, extend the diesel exemption by another year, and delay the transition to the summer gasoline blend to limit its impact on prices.
