A man was seen descending from the 6th Street Bridge down into the flowing water of the LA River. He traveled over three-quarters of a mile southbound in the water, passed under the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and managed to escape the water flow before getting to the Olympic Bridge. The man had injuries of an undetermined extent and waited on the bank for LAFD personnel who evaluated, treated and prepared him for transport. LAFD Air Ops hoisted the patient and transported him to a nearby trauma center.
