Motorist Killed in Crash in Angeles National Forest North of Altadena

A man was killed when the vehicle he was driving crashed off the side of Big Tujunga Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest north of Altadena, authorities said today.

The man died at the scene of the crash, which was reported at about 10 p.m. Tuesday west of County Fire Marker 2.92, according to the California Highway Patrol. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

“For unknown reasons (the) vehicle ran off the roadway ... continued out of control down the mountainside, rolling over an unknown amount of times, before coming to rest 185 feet down the mountainside,'' a CHP statement said.
