Electric Leaf Blower Demo 9/15

South Pasadena City Council adopted an ordinance banning the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in the City at the September 1, 2021, City Council meeting. 

"Emissions from gas-powered leaf blowers are a significant source of air pollution in our community and can have severe impacts on our health. The City is committed to a better way of life environmentally and health-wise."

On September 1, 2021, City Council adopted an ordinance banning the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in the City. You have time to switch! Enforcement begins October 1, 2022.

The South Pasadena staff has partnered with the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) to host a free in-person electric leaf blower demonstration on September 15, 2021, at Garfield Park (1000 Park Avenue). 

All are welcome to stop by between 9 am and 1 pm to test out a variety of low-noise, low-polluting leaf blower models and brands to find the equipment best suited for their needs. 

Attendees can learn more about leaf blower incentive programs that can save commercial gardeners up to 75% off on new electric equipment.
