Authorities Seeking Public Help Solving October 2020 Killing in El Sereno
In El Sereno last October, a man was shot to death outside his business, and today authorities are hoping that the reward of $50,000 will help solve the case.
The Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County coroner's office report that Reza Mousavi, 36, was shot on Oct. 28, 2020, at 4827 East Huntington Drive and died at a hospital.
There was to be a news conference at the crime scene on Tuesday morning to announce the reward and ask for help in solving the case. LAPD homicide detectives and Mousavi's family members were expected to attend the news conference.
An anonymous tip leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of Mousavi's killer will be rewarded by the Los Angeles City Council on Aug. 20.
Kevin de Leon, Los Angeles City Councilman, moved for the reward because Mousavi was standing outside ABC Nutritional Care at 11:45 a.m. that morning when the suspect approached him and opened fire, fatally wounding him.
The LAPD Central Bureau homicide office was urged to receive any information on the crime by calling 213-486-8700 or 877-LAPD-247.
