On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 4:52 pm, South Pasadena Police Officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of Grevelia Street for a welfare check on two occupants of a parked vehicle.
On arrival, officers contacted the occupants and determined that they were not in medical distress. During the contact, officers noticed what appeared to be the end of a rifle in the back seat, and both occupants were immediately detained. Officers discovered that the weapon in the backseat was a crossbow. They also recovered a loaded handgun under the front seat.
The driver, 52-year-old Brad Anderson of Los Angeles, had several outstanding warrants and previous felony convictions. He was subsequently arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The female passenger was released at the scene.
