Alhambra Residents Fend off Burglar Suspect


The suspect was positively identified as John Anthony Patterson

At approximately 2:40 AM, the Alhambra Police Department's 911 Communication Center received a call of a home burglary that had just occurred on the 200 block of North Olive Ave (the northwest portion of the city). The homeowners reported that a male subject entered the residence, undressed, and entered their bedroom. 

The victims physically warded off the suspect by kicking him in the groin. The suspect fled the location on foot. Officers arrived within minutes and made contact with the two female victims, who were unharmed.

The suspect was positively identified as John Anthony Patterson, male Hispanic, 6 feet, 4 inches, approximately 220 pounds, shaved head, and wearing black glasses. Mr. Patterson is known to the Alhambra Police Department and was last arrested in October 2021.

The investigation is ongoing, with all available department resources being utilized to locate and bring the suspect into custody. Please be aware of your surroundings, lock all doors, and immediately report any suspicious person matching the suspect's description. If you see something, say something.
