Alhambra Shooting Suspect Captured

On February 26, 2022, at approximately 7:30 am, Alhambra Police Department’s communication center received calls of a possible shooting that occurred at Edgewood Avenue and Valley Boulevard in the City of Alhambra. Officers arrived moments later and found evidence that a car-to-car shooting occurred.

An unoccupied vehicle involved in the shooting was located at Marengo Avenue and Valley Boulevard. Evidence was found indicating a shooting occurred at this location as well. Subsequently, a victim was located at a nearby residence. The victim was not struck by the gunfire. After reviewing video surveillance in the area of both shootings, a suspect vehicle was identified. APD Detectives placed a "want” on the suspect vehicle while the investigation continued.

On February 28, 2022, the vehicle in question was spotted in the city of Bellflower by LASD/Lakewood Deputies. A lengthy pursuit ensued after Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver failed to stop. The driver of the vehicle was eventually taken into custody in the City of Costa Mesa where a weapon was found in the suspect's possession.

APD Detectives are continuing to investigate the original shootings that took place on February 26, 2022.
